Cornubia, an impressive multi-billion-rand mixed-use development in the northern corridor of Durban, proudly welcomed the state-of-the-art Makro Store, commencing its operations in February 2019. This remarkable store marks Makro's 22nd establishment in South Africa, occupying a 19,000m2 retail facility within the Cornubia Ridge Logistics Park. Positioned adjacent to the Gateway precinct and easily accessible from major highways such as the M41 and the N2, it offers a vast customer base convenience.
The development, valued at R1 billion, results from a successful joint venture between Fortress REIT Limited, a member of the JSE-listed Resilient group of property companies, and M&F Giuricich Developments, a renowned privately owned development company. Emphasising its commitment to the surrounding communities, Makro Cornubia has taken a proactive approach to creating numerous opportunities, including job opportunities for residents and sustainable community development programs focusing on the youth.
